Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryGUDRUN HALLSON Gudrun (Runa) Hallson, born February 14, 1900, passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, on January 22, 2000. Gudrun moved with her brother Eirikur and parents from Iceland to Manitoba at age 12. Following graduation, she taught school and then married Gisli Hallson in 1922. They raised five children on a cattle farm near Vogar, Manitoba. Following Gislis death, she moved to Vancouver in 1953, and worked at Eatons. In 1962 she moved to Hawaii and later to California where she worked before retiring to Vancouver in 1978. Gudrun travelled the world and experienced virtually all of the 20th century, dying only weeks before her 100th birthday. She was predeceased by her husband Gisli; sons, Petur and Eirikur and daughters-in-law Audrey and Marlene. Runa is survived by her loving family, sons, Arnold and Herbert; daughter, Ann Penway (Tom) ten grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. A memorial service was held on Thursday, January 27, at 1:30 p.m. at Oakridge Lutheran Church, 585 West 41st Ave., Vancouver. A Graveside Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 1, at the Oakview Cemetery with Pastor Bob Lewis officiating. Arrangements by: Arnason Funeral Homes Ltd.
